Competing in the 100-pound weight class, Anello captured the Suffolk County championship before going on to place third at the New York State Championships in Albany.

The third time was the charm for the Smithtown West boys basketball team. The Bulls defeated Half Hollow Hills West 98-68 in the Suffolk County Class AA championship game Saturday afternoon at Stony Brook University, capturing the program’s first county basketball title.

The Shoreham-Wading River girls basketball team are the Suffolk County Champions after pulling off a dramatic comeback victory over Mount Sinai. The Wildcats showed heart and determination throughout the game, refusing to give up as they rallied late to secure the title. Shoreham-Wading River defeated Mount Sinai 44-41 this past week, improving its season record to 20-2 and doing it in a fashion that would make for a great movie script.
The Colonials Come Up Just Short
William Floyd basketball made program history this weekend as both the boys and girls teams advanced to the Suffolk County championship games. Although neither team was able to capture the county title, the Colonials still capped off memorable seasons and showcased the strength of the program on Long Island’s biggest stage.
Floyd's Track Stars Shine
William Floyd High School indoor track runners Zavier Jenkins and Allana Morgan both placed in the top three in their respective events at the Long Island Elite Meet, a competition that features the top high school track athletes from Suffolk County, Nassau County and the Catholic League competing for Long Island bragging rights.
