Smithtown Central School District Director of Athletics Jason Lambert led two college commitment ceremonies for High School East and High School West student-athletes on April 22, celebrating a special milestone for members of the senior class.

The ceremonies honored graduating seniors who have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by proud family members, friends, coaches, and school staff, the student-athletes were recognized for years of dedication, hard work, and success both in the classroom and in competition.

Lambert praised the Class of 2026 for the lasting impact it has made on the district during the past four years.

“The amount of success the senior class has had since they walked through the doors four years ago is incredible,” Lambert told students and parents. “You have set the bar for future classes. Today is a day to celebrate all of our student-athletes, their parents, and their accomplishments.”

His message reflected the pride felt throughout the Smithtown community as these seniors prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Many of the students being honored have spent years representing Smithtown East and Smithtown West with distinction, helping build successful programs while creating lasting memories along the way.

As each student-athlete was recognized, family members smiled, applauded, and captured the moment with photos. Seniors proudly wore the colors of their future colleges, symbolizing both their achievements and the exciting opportunities ahead.

College commitment ceremonies have become a meaningful tradition for many schools, offering student-athletes a chance to celebrate the culmination of years of training, sacrifice, and perseverance. For the seniors in Smithtown, the event also served as a reminder of how far they have come since entering high school.

Whether on the field, court, track, or in the classroom, these students have represented their schools with pride and determination. Their success has helped raise the standard for those who follow.

Now, with graduation approaching, they prepare to begin new journeys at colleges across the country.

For Smithtown East and Smithtown West, the ceremonies were more than just signings — they were a celebration of commitment, achievement, and the bright futures awaiting these outstanding student-athletes.
