The Half Hollow Hills JV softball team stepped off the field and into the community this past weekend, taking part in Alec’s Run at Hills West lats week.

The event brought together students, families, and community members for a day centered on fitness, unity, and support for a meaningful cause. For the Hills JV softball team, it was an opportunity to give back while representing their program in a positive and impactful way.

Several members of the team delivered strong performances during the run. Lily Catalano and Divon Rodriguez each earned third-place finishes in their respective age groups, showcasing both determination and competitive spirit. Their efforts stood out among a large field of participants and reflected the hard work they bring not only to the softball field, but to everything they do.

Leading by example, Coach Hayden also had an outstanding showing, finishing in first place in her age group. Her performance added to an already successful day for the team and highlighted the leadership and dedication she brings to the program.

While the results were impressive, the day was about more than just times and placements. Alec’s Run is an event that emphasizes community involvement, and the Hills JV softball team embraced that spirit from start to finish. Whether running, cheering, or supporting fellow participants, the group made its presence felt in a positive way.

Events like this allow student-athletes to connect with their community beyond competition, reinforcing the values of teamwork, compassion, and service. For the Hills JV softball team, it was a chance to come together outside of their usual setting and support a cause that means a great deal to many in the area.

With strong finishes and a meaningful experience to take with them, the team made the most of the day.

It was a successful outing for Half Hollow Hills, both in terms of performance and community impact, as the players and coaches showed what it truly means to represent their school with pride.
