SWR Celebrates Their College Commits

Shoreham-Wading River High School proudly celebrated a distinguished group of student-athletes who have committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Surrounded by family members, friends, coaches, and faculty, the seniors were recognized for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in competition. The ceremony marked an important milestone, as each student-athlete prepares to take the next step in their journey.

The event highlighted the strength of Shoreham-Wading River’s athletic programs and the hard work these students have put in over the years. From early morning practices to late-night games, their efforts have helped shape not only their individual success but also the pride of the school community.

The following student-athletes were honored for their college commitments:

Michela Nobre will attend D’Youville University to compete in acrobatics and tumbling at the NCAA Division II level, while Gia Politi is headed to La Salle University for acrobatics and tumbling at the Division I level.

James Cook will continue his basketball career at St. John Fisher University, and Lilah Cutalo will join the cheerleading program at the University at Albany.

In field hockey, Marisa Cacciola will attend Franklin Pierce University. The lacrosse program was well represented, with George Greene (Siena University), Anthony Mullen (Salve Regina University), Tyler Nowaski (Molloy University), and Andrew Cimino (University of Richmond) continuing their careers on the men’s side.

On the women’s side, Jocelyn Kavanaugh (Rochester Institute of Technology), Katherine Keegan (Binghamton University), Leslie Jablonski (Fairfield University), Anabel Keegan (Towson University), and Aubrey Russo (Georgian Court University) will all compete at the next level.

In soccer, Aidan De Collibus will attend the University of Bridgeport, while Mia Mangano (Johnson & Wales University) and Olivia Pesso (Amherst College) will play on the women’s side.

Rounding out the group, Michael Pfeiffer will continue his volleyball career at St. Joseph’s University.

The ceremony served as a proud moment for the Shoreham-Wading River community, celebrating not only athletic talent but also academic achievement and character.

As these seniors prepare for graduation, they carry with them the support of their school and the excitement of new opportunities ahead.
