Half Hollow Hills East senior Samantha Heyman has earned one of Suffolk County’s most prestigious honors, being selected as a recipient of the Orlin & Cohen Scholar Athlete Scholarship.
Heyman was chosen as one of only two students in Suffolk County to receive the award, which recognizes exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and sports medicine. The honor highlights student-athletes who excel both inside and outside the classroom while also demonstrating a commitment to helping others through athletics and community involvement.
Already well known throughout Long Island for her accomplishments on the football field, Heyman continues to add to an impressive list of achievements during her standout high school career.
This past season, she was named the Class A New York State Flag Football Offensive Player of the Year by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association after a dominant season leading Hills East. Her performance helped place both her program and Long Island flag football in the spotlight statewide.
In addition to her athletic success, Heyman has also distinguished herself academically and through her involvement in sports medicine, making her an ideal choice for the scholarship.
