The William Floyd Colonials track and field team turned in an outstanding performance this past week at the Don Bohlinger Invitational, held at West Babylon High School. With strong finishes across multiple events, the Colonials showed off their depth, speed, and talent against some of Suffolk County’s top competition.
Leading the way was the boys 4x400-meter relay team, which captured first place with an impressive time of 3:29.56. The relay squad of Ryan Chickel, Divine Bennett, David Gilles, and Jordan Hua held off a strong challenge from Amityville to secure the victory and highlight an excellent day for the Colonials on the track.

Amani Faltz earned a third-place finish in the triple jump, while Christian Hobson placed seventh in the same event. Hobson also had a strong showing in the long jump, finishing fifth overall. Vontrell Hobson and Jamerson Stokley added to the team’s success in the long jump by both finishing inside the top 20.
In the pole vault, Nicolaus Lattanzi tied for eighth place, while Temarr Burwell and Curtis Edwards each tied for seventh in the high jump to give the Colonials two top-10 finishes in the event.
