Evan Fraser of Patchogue-Medford High School turned in an impressive performance on the state stage, capping off a standout indoor track season.

Competing at the New York State Boys Indoor Track and Field Championships last week, Fraser earned a sixth-place finish in the 300-meter dash. The senior crossed the line in 34.44 seconds, a time that not only secured his place among the state’s best but also marked a personal record. In true form, Fraser once again etched his name into the school record books, continuing a trend that has defined his season.

Fraser’s success didn’t begin at states. Over the past few months, he has consistently delivered top-tier performances in the 300-meter dash. Last month, he captured first place at both the Suffolk County Large School Boys Indoor Track and Field Championships and the Section XI Championships, solidifying his position as one of the top sprinters in the region.

At each of those meets, Fraser not only claimed victories but also broke the school record, previously setting it at 34.49 seconds before lowering it again at the state championships. His ability to continually improve and perform under pressure has been a key factor in his remarkable season.

With a combination of speed, determination and consistency, Fraser has put together one of the most memorable indoor track seasons in recent school history. His accomplishments have brought pride to the Patchogue-Medford community and set a high bar for future athletes.

As his senior year continues, Fraser’s performances serve as a testament to hard work paying off on the biggest stages.
