Brian Vales continues to pour on the offense this season, and he delivered another incredible performance for Mount Sinai this past week. Vales led the Mustangs to a convincing 70–51 victory over Wyandanch, showcasing his scoring touch and all-around dominance. The standout guard finished the night with 42 points and 13 rebounds, powering Mount Sinai to its eighth win of the season and improving the team’s record to 8–2.

With that effort, Vales now sits third in Suffolk County in scoring average, pouring in more than 22 points per game. He has also moved into first place countywide in total field goals made, reaching 72 on the season, a testament to both his efficiency and consistency. Night after night, opposing defenses have struggled to slow him down, and he continues to elevate his game as the season progresses.

Vales was not alone in the offensive effort. Andrew McNeely contributed a strong all-around performance with 19 points and five assists, helping to keep the offense flowing and creating opportunities for his teammates. Hunter Seale added valuable support as well, pulling down five rebounds and dishing out four assists to complement the scoring attack.

While the offensive fireworks once again grabbed the headlines, Mount Sinai’s defense also played a key role in the win. The Mustangs applied steady pressure throughout the game, limiting Wyandanch’s scoring opportunities and forcing difficult shots. As a result, Mount Sinai has now held four of its last five opponents to fewer than 60 points, highlighting a balanced approach that combines scoring punch with disciplined defense.

Mount Sinai will look to build on this momentum when it hosts Hampton Bays in its next matchup. Following that contest, the Mustangs will hit the road for a challenging stretch, traveling to face Sayville and Amityville next week as they continue their push through the heart of the season.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
