The William Floyd Colonials offense got off to a fast start this week and never looked back in a commanding 16-2 victory over North Babylon Bulldogs.
From the opening whistle, the Colonials came out energized and focused. William Floyd scored eight goals in the first quarter alone, quickly taking control of the contest and leaving little doubt about the outcome. The early surge set the tone for one of the team’s most complete performances of the season.
The scoring attack was balanced and impressive, with contributions coming from all over the field. Marc Pluchino and Ryan Murtha led the way, each scoring two goals and adding one assist for three points apiece.
AJ Enea and Nicky Caraballo also scored two goals each, giving the Colonials four different multi-goal scorers on the day.
Additional offensive support came from Matt Filosa and Brett Pitkanen, who each recorded one goal and one assist. Jack Meyer, Josiah Lors, Jake Bongiovi, and Gavin Blankenship all found the back of the net as well. In total, 12 different Colonials scored goals in the victory, highlighting the depth of the roster.
PJ Gilhauley contributed two important assists, while Brett Shaw added an assist of his own.
The defense was equally sharp, allowing just two goals all afternoon. In net, Dylan Reynolds and Shaw combined for 10 saves to help seal the dominant win.
With the victory, William Floyd improved to 5-3 overall on the season. The Colonials now turn their attention to a tough upcoming matchup with Ward Melville Patriots later this week as they look to keep their momentum rolling.
