Student-athletes from the Bay Shore Track and Field program recently took their talents to the national stage, competing in two of the premier indoor track competitions in the country and representing their school with pride.
Limel Small competed in the triple jump at the Nike High School Indoor National Championships, going up against some of the best athletes from across the nation. Small has been a consistent standout for Bay Shore and earned the opportunity to compete at nationals thanks to a strong indoor season that showcased both skill and determination.
Meanwhile, teammate Maggie McCormick delivered an impressive performance of her own at the New Balance High School Indoor Championships. Competing in two demanding distance events, McCormick placed fourth in the two-mile and sixth in the one-mile, earning All-American honors for her efforts.
McCormick’s success comes as no surprise to those who have followed her standout season. She has consistently been among the top distance runners in the region and continues to elevate her performance on some of the biggest stages in the sport.
For Bay Shore, having athletes compete—and succeed—at national-level meets is a testament to the strength of the program and the hard work put in by both the athletes and coaching staff throughout the season.
These performances not only cap off a strong indoor campaign but also build momentum heading into the outdoor season. With talent, experience and confidence on their side, Bay Shore’s track and field athletes are poised to continue making headlines.
It’s a proud moment for the school community, as these student-athletes showcase what dedication and perseverance can achieve on a national stage.
