A true team effort powered the William Floyd Colonials Boys Lacrosse to an impressive 15-8 victory over the Riverhead Blue Waves, as the Colonials showcased both depth and firepower in one of their most complete performances of the young season.

In a game that highlighted just how balanced this roster can be, 12 different players recorded points, with eight finding the back of the net. Leading the offensive charge were Matt Filosa, Ryan Murtha and Marc Pluchino, who each finished with six points.

Pluchino led the way with four goals and two assists, continuing his strong start to the season. Filosa contributed two goals and four assists, showing his ability to both score and distribute, while Murtha turned in a well-rounded performance with three goals and three assists. Matt Taiani added three points with one goal and two assists, further emphasizing the team’s offensive balance.

The scoring depth didn’t stop there. Nicky Caraballo scored twice, while Josiah Lors, Brett Pitkanen and Brett Shaw each added a goal. PJ Gilhauley and Avery Bent also made contributions with assists, rounding out a complete team effort.

Defensively, the Colonials were just as strong. Matt Shaw anchored the team in goal with an outstanding 15-save performance, while Dylan Reynolds added one save.

With the win, William Floyd improves to 3-1 on the season and continues to make a statement offensively, scoring 35 goals through its first four games. The Colonials will look to keep that momentum going when they take on Sachem North Arrows in their next matchup.
