Sophomore standout Milania Farrow of the William Floyd Colonials girls' varsity basketball team continues to earn recognition for her outstanding play, as she was recently nominated for the Sports Illustrated High School Girls’ Athlete of the Week honor.

Farrow’s nomination comes on the heels of a dominant performance in the quarterfinal round of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association girls’ basketball tournament. In that game, she poured in 30 points to lead the Colonials to a convincing 61–30 victory, helping secure the New York State Class AAA Regional Championship. Her scoring effort played a major role in propelling William Floyd deeper into the state tournament and showcased her ability to perform on the big stage.

Each week during the high school sports season, High School on SI compiles a list of the top performances from across the country. The nominations are based on standout efforts submitted and reviewed by fans, readers, and staff, highlighting some of the most impressive individual achievements in high school athletics nationwide.

Farrow’s inclusion among the nominees reflects not only her individual success but also the strong season enjoyed by the William Floyd program. As one of the team’s key contributors, she has consistently delivered impactful performances and continues to establish herself as one of the top young players in the region.

Voting for the award remains open through Sunday, March 22, giving fans the opportunity to support Farrow and recognize her accomplishment. The winner will be announced in the following week’s National High School Girls Athlete of the Week feature.

For Farrow and the Colonials, the nomination adds another highlight to an already memorable season, while also bringing national attention to the program and its rising star.
