The boys swimming team from Sachem High School East turned in an impressive performance at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships last weekend.

According to the school’s social media accounts, the team “delivered standout performances and represented the program with energy, teamwork and pride” throughout the championship meet.

One of the highlights came from the 200-yard medley relay team, which featured Connor Frank, EJ Garmon, CJ Schilling and David Spooner, with Logan Frank serving as the relay alternate. The quartet finished 23rd in the state, capping off a memorable season for the group.

The relay team also secured a place in the program’s record books. Their time of 1 minute, 39.44 seconds set a new school record in the event, marking one of the program’s most notable achievements this season.

Frank also delivered an outstanding performance in his individual races. The sophomore finished 14th in New York State in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.02 seconds and placed 21st in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.99. His strong showing highlighted both his individual talent and the depth within the Sachem East swimming program.

Throughout the championship meet, the team brought strong energy to the pool deck, constantly cheering on teammates and creating an atmosphere of unity and support that reflected the culture of the program.

The meet also marked a milestone moment for Garmon, a senior who will continue his swimming career next year at Mount Saint Mary's University. His leadership and dedication have been instrumental to the team’s success.

With several key contributors expected to return next season, Sachem East is already looking ahead with optimism as the program builds on this year’s accomplishments and aims for another trip to the state stage.
