Asian Jade Society Honors Legislator Mazzarella

Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society Awards Ceremony | Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella

Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella was recognized at a recent ceremony hosted by the Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society, where he received this year’s Public Safety Award.

The Asian Jade Society, a fraternal organization of Asian-American law enforcement officers, works to strengthen relationships between police and the Asian-American community while promoting safety, cultural awareness, and civic engagement throughout Suffolk County.

Mazzarella expressed his appreciation for the honor and praised the organization for its dedication to both public safety and community unity.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society for honoring me with this year’s Public Safety Award,” Mazzarella said. “Their remarkable work in promoting public safety and supporting our law enforcement officers is truly commendable. One of their core missions is to build bridges between cultures, advocating for inclusion, respect, and safety. I am immensely proud of their efforts and genuinely humbled to be considered for this prestigious award.”

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico attended the event and spoke about Mazzarella’s commitment to his district and his role in county government.

“A wonderful event that I was happy to attend on behalf of my friend Legislator Jim Mazzarella, who was among the honorees for the evening,” Panico said. “Jim is a dedicated legislator who knows his district, knows the issues and is a very solid representative for County government.”

Founded in 2014, the Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society has grown into a prominent Asian-American organization on Long Island.

The group promotes recruitment into military, law enforcement, and government service while also working to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen civic participation.

Through community workshops, cultural festivals, youth engagement programs, and partnerships with the Suffolk County Police Department, the organization continues to enhance cultural awareness and build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The Society also honored Senator Monica R. Martinez, James M. Gruenfelder, President of the Suffolk County Superior Officers Association, attorney Gregory Caggiano, Esq., and the late Dr. Ahmed Elkoulily.
