The Long Island Ducks have done it again as their long balls have given back to the community. The Ducks joined representatives from Fairfield Properties and three local food banks and nonprofit organizations over the holiday to celebrate a successful “Home Runs for Hunger” program during the Ducks’ 2025 season. The initiative once again highlighted the strong commitment both organizations have to supporting the Long Island community.

Throughout the baseball season, Fairfield Properties pledged to make a donation to local food banks every time the Ducks hit a home run. The partnership turned on-field success into meaningful community impact, helping address food insecurity across the region. By the end of the 2025 season, the Ducks had totaled 125 home runs, resulting in a $13,500 donation from Fairfield Properties to support hunger relief efforts.

“Fairfield Properties is honored to partner with the Long Island Ducks on this impactful community initiative,” said Gary Broxmeyer and Michael Broxmeyer, co-managing partners of Fairfield Properties. “Addressing food insecurity remains a critical need across Long Island, and we’re proud to assist these dedicated organizations in their mission to fight hunger.”

Three local organizations were selected by Fairfield Properties to benefit from the program: the Interfaith Nutrition Network, Long Island Cares, and Island Harvest. Each organization plays a vital role in providing food and resources to individuals and families in need throughout Long Island.

Gary and Michael Broxmeyer were joined by Fairfield Properties Chief Financial Officer Ralph Cusano and members of the Ducks organization, including team mascot QuackerJack, to commemorate the program’s success. Representatives from each beneficiary organization were also in attendance, including Dana N. Lopez, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Interfaith Nutrition Network; Kaylin Wasilchuk, Corporate Philanthropy Manager for Long Island Cares; and Amanda Chirco, Director of Development at Island Harvest.

The “Home Runs for Hunger” initiative once again demonstrated how sports partnerships can make a lasting difference off the field. By combining athletic achievement with charitable giving, the Ducks and Fairfield Properties continue to help combat hunger while strengthening their connection to the Long Island community they proudly serve.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
