The Phantoms Celebrate Their Championship Teams

At a recent Board of Education meeting, the Bayport-Blue Point School District honored two outstanding varsity teams for their remarkable accomplishments during the 2024–2025 school year. The Bayport-Blue Point High School varsity football team was formally recognized for being named the 2025 Long Island Champions, an achievement that reflects months of dedication, discipline, and teamwork. In addition, the girls varsity tennis team was celebrated for earning the title of 2025 New York State Champions, marking a historic season for the program.

Prior to the meeting, members of the community gathered along Snedecor Avenue for a spirited championship parade. Athletes waved proudly from passing trucks as families, friends, teachers, and neighbors lined the sidewalks to cheer on the student-athletes. The parade created an atmosphere of excitement and unity, highlighting the strong support the community shows for its schools and athletic programs.

During the meeting, board members and administrators praised the athletes and coaching staffs for their commitment, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
