Patchogue-Medford High School was overflowing with school spirit, unity, and pride during its recent pep rally, an event that brought together students, staff, and families in celebration of Raider Nation. The athletic complex was packed with energy as cheers echoed throughout, marking one of the most spirited events of the school year.

The special occasion featured outstanding performances by the school’s cheerleaders, kickline, and marching band, each energizing the crowd with dynamic routines and music that filled the air with excitement. The event also honored all of the fall sports teams, recognizing the dedication and achievements of student-athletes representing Patchogue-Medford across multiple disciplines.

Another highlight of the day was the recognition of the Academic and Career Explorers (ACES) of the Raider Bean, who were named the grand marshals of this year’s homecoming parade. Their leadership and contributions to the school community were celebrated by both students and staff, underscoring the district’s commitment to excellence in academics as well as athletics.

Adding to the day’s excitement, the school introduced its brand-new Raiders mascot — the buffalo — a symbol chosen to represent the strength, pride, and resilience of the Patchogue-Medford community. The unveiling of the mascot brought loud cheers and applause, as the costumed figure made its first appearance to the delight of students.

Principal, faculty, and officials emphasized how the new mascot embodies the unity and determination that define the Raider spirit. The introduction marks a new chapter in Patchogue-Medford’s proud athletic and cultural history, one that students and alumni alike will rally behind for years to come.

With its mix of tradition, celebration, and excitement, the pep rally set the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable homecoming season at Patchogue-Medford High School.

Pat-Med is now 3-3 on the season as they head to take on Sachem East this week.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
