In the Footsteps of Jesus

A Catholic nun, an angel of a woman, known and revered the world over for her awesome work in India is the subject matter of this week's poem. The title of the piece reveals her name.

Powerful Instrument of God—Mother Teresa

O deeply compassionate

woman

day in, day out

you make your way through

the streets of

Calcutta’s N.E. region—

tirelessly tending

to the dire needs

of the poorest of the

poor,

taking great pain

in alleviating

their miserable

existence

as best you can—

not only on a physical

level

but more importantly

On a spiritual one;

leading lost souls

to the saving grace

of Christ!

O Mother Teresa!

Beautiful are the

feet of those who follow

in the footsteps

of the Lord—as

yours faithfully do!

Opinion

From the Newsroom: Never Forget

Twenty-four years later, the horror of America’s darkest day still reverberates. The memories of the brave souls we lost must live on—not just for those who were there, but for generations who were not yet born.
