Patriotic Day in Patchogue

It was a patriotic day in Patchogue as the village created July 4 with a parade down Main Street. A number of local organizations and elected officials participated in the red, white, and blue event, including County Executive Ed Romaine, Congressman Andrew Garbarino, Senator Dean Murray, Assemblymen Joe DeStefano and Jarett Gandolfo, Suffolk Legislator Dominick Thorne, Brookhaven Councilman Neil Foley, Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri, and Trustee Jack Krieger.

Hills East Wins First Ever State Championship

The Half Hollow Hills East girls flag football team has accomplished something no Suffolk County team had ever done before. This week, the Red Colts made Long Island history by becoming the first Suffolk County flag football team to capture a New York State championship. The historic achievement capped off a perfect season as Hills East defeated Shaker High School 26-12 in the state title game.
