Stony Brook University celebrated its 2024 Class of 40 Under Forty on October 24, recognizing young alumni who have made significant contributions in various fields. These individuals have shown leadership and achieved early career success in areas such as healthcare, technology, public service, academia, and environmental sciences.

Interim President Richard L. McCormick remarked on the accomplishments of the honorees: “This year’s honorees are joining a community of very distinguished alumni. They are accomplishing great things in their fields and providing exceptional service to their communities — helping to fuel Stony Brook’s unstoppable momentum across Long Island, our state, our region and the nation.”

The event took place at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater with over 150 alumni and friends attending. The honorees have been involved in various impactful activities including advocating for veterans' resources, working for senior citizens' rights in the New York State Assembly, competing in the Olympics, and fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
