Patriotic pride was on full display at Suffolk County's America 250th Celebration Event, as vendors and families from across Long Island gathered at Veterans Memorial Park in Selden, New York, to celebrate 250 years of the United States of America.
Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa and Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico spearheaded the event.

Spanning the years 1776 to 2026, the celebration fostered a strong sense of patriotism among the families and visitors who attended the day's festivities.
The Greater Middle Country Chamber of Commerce served as one of the primary sponsors and organizers of the America 250 Celebration. The Chamber represents the communities of Selden, Centereach, Lake Grove, and the surrounding areas.
The event attracted nearly 3,000 attendees, including residents, veterans, families, and visitors from throughout the region.
Among the day's highlights were ceremonies recognizing and honoring military veterans, along with historical reenactors portraying individuals and events from the Revolutionary War era.
Additional attractions included military vehicles, a Touch-a-Truck exhibit, numerous food vendors, family-friendly activities, country line dancing, and a live performance by the band Southbound.
At its core, the event sought to unite the Long Island community in celebration of American history, honor the sacrifices made by our nation's veterans, and officially launch local commemorations of the United States' 250th anniversary.
Feedback from attendees overwhelmingly reflected a successful community celebration that blended patriotism, education, local history, entertainment, and family-friendly activities while honoring America's past and the veterans whose service has preserved its freedoms.
