ESM Celebrates Seniors Continuing Athletic Careers in College


ESM senior student-athletes | Eastport-South Manor Central School District

The Eastport-South Manor Central School District proudly celebrated 20 senior student-athletes during its annual Senior Athlete Sendoff on June 3, recognizing those who have committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

The ceremony honored the dedication, perseverance and accomplishments that helped each student-athlete reach this exciting milestone. Family members, coaches, teammates and district officials gathered to celebrate the seniors and wish them success in the next chapter of their athletic and academic journeys.

Among those recognized were Layla Bloxon, who will play soccer at Southern Connecticut State University, and Nicholas Calcaterra, who will continue his baseball career at Dominican University. Makayla Coyle will play lacrosse at Pace University, while Gianna Da Cunha is headed to East Stroudsburg University for soccer.

Thomas D’Agostino will continue playing lacrosse at Castleton University, and Massimo Ferraro will compete in both football and lacrosse at SUNY Maritime College. Collin Fessel will play football at Molloy University, while Maeve Gayer will attend the United States Air Force Academy to continue her soccer career.

Jordan Goldhammer is headed to Vermont State University-Randolph for baseball, Braiden Huff will play lacrosse at SUNY Oneonta and Hannah Jaccard will continue her softball career at Buffalo State University. Owen Loomis will play football at Utica University, while Brady McGowan is headed to Marist University for baseball.

Molly McGuire will continue playing lacrosse at SUNY Cortland, Taylor Murtha will play at Sacred Heart University and Sabrina Pelo will compete in soccer at SUNY Oneonta. Leah Smith will continue her softball career at Mercy University.

Twin sisters Kate Valenti and Lauren Valenti will both play women's lacrosse at Saint Leo University, while Logan Walsh will continue his baseball career at Felician University.

The Eastport-South Manor community congratulated all 20 seniors on their outstanding accomplishments and wished them continued success at the collegiate level.
