Sibling standouts Ray and Kai Hidaka are continuing an impressive season on the mat, as the senior-and-sophomore duo has officially advanced to the Suffolk County Individual Championships at Smithtown East High School.

The Hidaka brothers have been a major part of their program’s success this season, consistently delivering strong performances and showcasing the dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit that have made them two of the team’s top athletes. Now, after battling their way through the competition and reaching the finals, both athletes have earned a spot at the New York State Championships.

Advancing to the state tournament is one of the highest accomplishments in high school wrestling and reflects the tremendous amount of hard work both wrestlers have put in throughout the season. Wrestling at the county championship level requires not only physical toughness but also mental preparation, endurance, and the ability to perform under pressure.
