Give Blood, Save Lives at Ronkonkoma Street Fair

Blood Drive Details | Leslie Kennedy

You will have an opportunity to help save lives later this month during a community blood drive at the Ronkonkoma Street Fair, sponsored by Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy.

The blood drive will take place Sunday, May 24th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. aboard a New York Blood Center mobile donation bus located between Flanagan’s Pub and Bustos Martial Arts at the street fair.

Organizers are encouraging community members to donate blood as supplies remain in constant demand for hospitals and emergency medical care throughout the region.

“As summer approaches, blood donations are especially important because supplies often run low while the need remains high,” organizers said in promotional materials for the event.

Donors who participate will receive two vouchers for Mets tickets as a thank-you gift from the New York Blood Center, according to the flyer.

The organization also reminded prospective donors to eat well, stay hydrated and bring a photo ID before donating.

Appointments can be scheduled online at nybc.org/sponsor using sponsor code 62130. Walk-ins may also be accepted depending on availability.
