Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel is set to bring the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to Long Island with a lively viewing party on Saturday, May 2nd, offering guests a chance to experience one of horse racing’s most iconic traditions without leaving Suffolk County.
The event, hosted at the popular Islandia venue, will feature live coverage of the Derby, often called “the most exciting two minutes in sports," along with on-site betting, signature mint juleps and a festive atmosphere inside the Bistro 58 Sports Bar and Grill.
Guests can watch the race on jumbo screens while enjoying food, drinks and the high-energy environment typically associated with the annual Run for the Roses.
Located at 3635 Express Drive North, Jake’s 58 has become one of Long Island’s premier entertainment destinations since opening in 2017.
Operated by Suffolk County Regional Off-Track Betting, the facility combines gaming, hospitality and dining, drawing visitors from across the region.
In recent years, Jake’s 58 has also been at the center of one of the largest economic development efforts on Long Island.
A $210 million expansion project currently underway is expected to significantly increase the property’s footprint, adding restaurants, event space and entertainment amenities while creating hundreds of construction and permanent jobs.
Local leaders say the expansion, and the steady stream of events hosted at the property, continues to provide a major boost to Suffolk County’s economy. Revenue generated by Jake’s 58 helps fund education and supports local government services, reinforcing its role as a public-benefit enterprise.
As Derby Day approaches, organizers say the May 2nd celebration is designed to capture that same blend of excitement, tradition and community impact, bringing a nationally celebrated sporting event to a distinctly Long Island stage.
