The Long Island Ducks have released a recently completed report by Discover Long Island detailing the club’s impressive $501 million economic impact over its first 25 seasons at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.

According to the study, the Ducks contribute approximately $20 million to the local economy each season. More than $12 million annually comes through direct spending, including ticket sales, concessions, sponsorships, payroll, and operational costs. Another $6 million is generated through indirect impact, such as local vendors supplying goods and services and businesses supporting one another.

Michael Pfaff said the organization’s impact stretches far beyond baseball. He noted that every game played at the ballpark helps fuel local businesses, support families, and strengthen the surrounding community. Pfaff added that while the $500 million milestone is significant, the team takes even greater pride in bringing people together, supporting important causes, and creating lasting memories for generations of fans.

Entering the 2026 season, nearly 9.5 million fans have attended Ducks games over the franchise’s 25-year history. Many of those visitors have also dined at nearby restaurants, shopped at local stores, and made attending Ducks games part of their family traditions. The report estimates an additional $15 million each year in off-site spending, reinforcing the team’s role as an anchor of regional activity.

Sharon Wyman praised the Ducks as an example of the power of sports tourism. She said the team has drawn millions of visitors to the region, supported local businesses, and generated major off-site spending, helping establish the Ducks as both a beloved attraction and a key economic engine for Long Island.

For many Long Islanders, Ducks baseball has long been a summer tradition. This report shows that the organization’s value reaches well beyond entertainment. From job creation and business support to tourism and community connection, the Ducks have become an important part of the local economy.

As the team looks ahead to future seasons, the numbers make one thing clear: the Ducks have delivered a winning impact both on and off the field.
