Students in Mrs. Frole’s third-grade class at Minnesauke Elementary School received a special visit this past week, as members of the Stony Brook Seawolves Men’s Lacrosse stopped by to share an important lesson on teamwork.

Head coach Anthony Gilardi was joined by players Jaden Baldwin and Kyan East for the classroom visit, which tied directly into the students’ current HMH Literacy unit focused on collaboration and working together.

During their time with the class, the group spoke about the importance of communication, trust and supporting one another—both on the lacrosse field and in everyday life. The players shared personal experiences from their time as student-athletes, helping to bring real-world perspective to the students’ lessons.

The visit gave students a unique opportunity to hear firsthand how teamwork plays a critical role in achieving success. From practicing together to competing at a high level, Baldwin and East emphasized that strong teams are built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to a common goal.

Before wrapping up their visit, the group left the class with a powerful message to remember: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

The visit is part of a broader effort to enhance the learning experience in Mrs. Frole’s classroom, with additional guest speakers expected to visit in the coming weeks. Each guest will help reinforce key themes from the curriculum in engaging and meaningful ways.

For the students at Minnesauke Elementary, the lesson went beyond the classroom, offering a memorable reminder that teamwork is a skill that can carry them far—both in school and in life.
