A standout season for Milania Farrow just got even more memorable.

Last week, we shared that the William Floyd Colonials sophomore was nominated for the prestigious Sports Illustrated National High School Girls Athlete of the Week award. This week, it became official—Farrow has been named the winner for March 9–15, earning national recognition for her outstanding play.

Farrow played a key role in helping William Floyd advance to the Final Four of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Tournament. Her nomination came after a dominant performance in the state quarterfinals, where she poured in 30 points to lead the Colonials to a convincing 61-30 victory over Corning-Painted Post.

The community showed up in full support during the voting process. Farrow earned nearly 55,000 votes out of approximately 100,000 cast, a strong showing that reflects both her impact on the court and the pride of the William Floyd community.

For those who have followed her journey, Farrow’s success comes as no surprise. She has been part of the William Floyd school district since her early years, attending John S. Hobart Elementary School and William Paca Middle School before making her mark at the high school level.

Still just a sophomore, Farrow has already established herself as one of the top players in the area, combining scoring ability with leadership and poise in big moments. Her recognition on the national stage is not only a personal achievement but also a point of pride for the entire William Floyd community.

With more basketball still ahead in her high school career, this latest honor could be just the beginning for one of Long Island’s rising stars.
