Students from Sachem High School East recently had the opportunity to step inside one of the world’s most iconic venues, Madison Square Garden, for a memorable, behind-the-scenes educational experience.
Members of the school’s Sports & Entertainment Management program were given exclusive access to areas typically closed to the public, offering a unique look at how a premier sports and entertainment arena operates. From locker rooms to premium seating areas, students explored the many moving parts that go into hosting large-scale events in one of the busiest venues in the world.
The visit carried special significance, as it coincided with the 100th anniversary celebration of the New York Rangers. Being inside the historic arena where generations of athletes and performers have made lasting memories gave students a deeper appreciation for both the building’s legacy and its role in sports and entertainment history.
Beyond the excitement of the tour, the trip also served as a valuable hands-on learning experience. Students were able to connect what they have been studying in the classroom to real-world applications, including event operations, facility management, marketing, and career pathways in the sports and entertainment industries.
