Families across the South Shore will have a chance to welcome spring with a full day of festivities when St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church hosts its Springtime Egg Hunt & Makers Festival on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church, located at 77 Montauk Highway in Blue Point.
The free community event will transform the church grounds into a lively celebration featuring an artisan marketplace, food trucks and a professionally organized Easter egg hunt. Organizers say the festival is designed to bring neighbors together while spotlighting local small businesses and supporting animal rescue groups.
Dozens of artisan and specialty vendors are expected to offer handmade goods, spring décor, jewelry, self-care products, sweet treats and one-of-a-kind Easter basket finds. Interactive attractions will include face painting, fairy hair tinsel, glitter tattoos, henna and permanent jewelry. Children can also take free photos with the Easter Bunny throughout the day.
Timed Easter egg hunts will be held in age-specific waves for children ages 2–5, 6–9 and 10–12. Each egg will be filled with prizes, and several “Golden Tickets” hidden on the field will earn lucky participants chocolate bunnies and entry into a grand prize drawing at the end of each session. Pre-registration is required, and participation in the egg hunt costs $10 per child.
“This event is about more than an egg hunt,” said event producer Stay Salted Inc. “It’s about creating a full spring experience where families can shop local, enjoy great food, make memories and support organizations doing important work in our community.”
Local animal rescue organizations will also be on site with adoptable pets, offering information about their missions and connecting animals in need with potential families.
The festival will be held rain or shine. Organizers encourage attendees to bring cash, as some vendors may not accept credit cards.
