The Rocky Point High School varsity wrestling program is known for its long-standing tradition of strong performances and individual excellence, and the team added another milestone to that legacy this past week. Senior standout Tyler Callahan reached an impressive career achievement by earning his 100th varsity win, a mark that reflects years of dedication, discipline, and consistent success on the mat.

Callahan entered the 2026 season ranked among the top 350 wrestlers in New York State by New York USA Wrestling, a testament to his continued growth and competitiveness. Throughout his high school career, he has demonstrated remarkable versatility, competing across multiple weight classes ranging from 102 to 131 pounds. That adaptability has made him a key contributor to the Rocky Point lineup year after year.

Last February, Callahan capped off a strong postseason run by finishing second in his weight class at the All-League Championships before advancing to the Suffolk County Championships. His ability to perform under pressure has been a defining trait of his career, and that composure was again on display earlier this season.

Most recently, Callahan captured the championship at the North Babylon Holiday Tournament, wrestling at 132 pounds and defeating a competitive field. The victory not only added another title to his résumé but also pushed him past the 100-win milestone, placing him among an elite group of Rocky Point wrestlers to reach that level.

The Rocky Point Athletic Department recognized the accomplishment in a statement, saying, “This achievement reflects years of discipline, commitment, and competitive excellence on the mat. We are proud of the standard Tyler continues to set for Rocky Point Wrestling.”

Beyond the wins and accolades, Callahan’s work ethic and leadership have made him a role model for younger teammates. As he continues his senior season, his milestone victory stands as both a personal achievement and a reflection of the strength of the Rocky Point wrestling program.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
