The William Floyd girls’ varsity basketball team, led by head coach Rich Sinclair, clinched a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive season.
With 10 overall wins in the regular season (six in League I), the Colonials have secured a No. 11 seed.
The Colonials fought hard for this playoff spot, picking up key victories over League I rivals Patchogue-Medford and Riverhead late in the season to set up a “win and you’re in” scenario for their final League I game of the season.
The team showed up and showed out in that game, blowing out Central Islip on the road by a 71-25 final score to officially punch their ticket to the Class AAA playoffs.
Savannah Pantry had a great showing in the win, posting an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Milania Farrow added 13 points of her own, with Chloe Campbell pitching in a 12-point, seven-rebound effort.
With four consecutive playoff appearances, there has been no other stretch in program history that has featured this prolonged level of success.
The 2024-25 girls’ varsity basketball team consists of student-athletes Destiny Talbert, London Barnes, Jana Aly, Jayla Thomas, Milania Farrow, Helen Lin, Andie Will, Caiden Widecki, Vinte’ya Rountree, Savannah Pantry, Kelis Gandy, Taleah Coppola, J.J. Stewart, and Chloe Campbell. Coaches include head coach Rich Sinclair and assistant coaches Max Campbell, Michael Clauberg, and Robert Hodgson.
