The Mustangs Race To A Three Peat

The Mount Sinai Boys’ Track & Field team now has a three peat in their trophy case.

The team won their third consecutive County Championship title. The team was led by first place finishes from Jess Joe Augustine in the 3200 meter, 1600 meter and 3000 Steeplechase. Liam Metzler took home first in the Long Jump. Tyler Zahra won the Shot Put and Johnny Cuomo also secured first place in the Pole Vault.

There were also a number of top 3 finishes. Liam Metzler had two events where he ended up in second place and added a 3rd place ribbon to his day. Anthony Delgandio, Logan Korakis, and Caden Smith also were able to bring back a third place finish.

With a team full of All Star quality athletes there was no shortage of All-County honors. They went to Jess Joe Augustine, Caden Smith, Logan Korakis, Anthony DelGandio, Liam Metzler, Tyler Zahra and Johnny Cuomo.

Record Setting Maggie McCormick Competes at Nationals

The Bay Shore Schools Board of Education recently recognized and congratulated girls varsity cross country standout Maggie McCormick for her outstanding achievements on the track and on the national stage. McCormick, who has committed to the University of Florida, was honored for her performance at the Nike Cross Country Nationals, one of the most prestigious high school running events in the country.

Ducks Have First Signing of 2026

The Long Island Ducks have announced the team’s first signing of 2026, welcoming Major League veteran outfielder Jacob Robson. Robson will begin his first season with the Ducks, his second in the Atlantic League, and his 10th season in professional baseball.
