Longwood Baseball Takes Home All The Honors

The Longwood varsity baseball team was one of the best on Long Island this season and they were honored this week.

The team took home multiple awards and accolades from their outstanding season. At the Baseball All-League/All-County Awards star pitcher CJ Forman took home an all All-County honor. Dean Ennis and Jaden Urso also were awarded to the All-County team with Urso nabbing a Gold Glove in the process.

Danny Gagliano, Matt Faraone, Brayden Plugues, and Danny Blank all received All-League nods.

The team also received the Walt Williams Award for having the best record in regular season play, with a 16-2 record. That's the first time since 1967 they were able to claim that prestigious honor.

To cap the night off coaches Ryan McSherry earned League 1 Coach of the Year, and Mitch Gregorovic was named League 1 JV Coach of the Year.

Record Setting Maggie McCormick Competes at Nationals

The Bay Shore Schools Board of Education recently recognized and congratulated girls varsity cross country standout Maggie McCormick for her outstanding achievements on the track and on the national stage. McCormick, who has committed to the University of Florida, was honored for her performance at the Nike Cross Country Nationals, one of the most prestigious high school running events in the country.

Ducks Have First Signing of 2026

The Long Island Ducks have announced the team’s first signing of 2026, welcoming Major League veteran outfielder Jacob Robson. Robson will begin his first season with the Ducks, his second in the Atlantic League, and his 10th season in professional baseball.
