Chris Diot Leads The Royals To Victory

In the back and forth battle between Port Jefferson and Southampton the Royals came away with the victory.

Port Jefferson came back from an 18-7 halftime deficit to claim the W. The Royals outscored the Mariners 20-6 in the second half as both the offense and the defense clamped down.

The Royals were led by Chris Diot threw three touchdowns on the day. None were bigger than the short TD pass to Brandon Verruto with under a minute to play to secure the first victory of the season for his squad.

Diot not only threw three touchdowns, but the multi dangerous QB also ran for over 150 yards and a score. Verruto finished with two touchdown receptions and was a force on defense all day with a sack.

The win was the first for the Royals who scored more points in this game than their previous 3 games combined.
