Trevor Bauer's stay on Long Island has come to an end, but not before the former Major League star made a lasting impact both on and off the field.

The Long Island Ducks announced that Bauer has signed with Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League. The move makes Bauer the fifth Ducks player to have his contract transferred during the 2026 season.

Bauer quickly became one of the biggest attractions in the Atlantic League, drawing sold-out crowds at Fairfield Properties Ballpark and helping bring new fans to the game.

"I want to thank the Long Island Ducks organization for giving me the opportunity to be part of the team," Bauer said. "The support from the fans and the Long Island community has been truly special. I'll always appreciate how warmly I was embraced by the Long Island community and by baseball fans throughout the Northeast."

Bauer also noted that many fans told him they had rediscovered their love of baseball through his content and his time with the Ducks, something he said meant a great deal to him.

On the mound, Bauer was dominant.

The right-hander posted a 5-1 record with a 2.36 ERA and 66 strikeouts against just seven walks over 42 innings in seven starts. His memorable run included a no-hitter against Lancaster on April 26 and a franchise-record 15 strikeouts against Gastonia on May 12. He was later named the Atlantic League's April/May Pitcher of the Month.

"Trevor exceeded every expectation during his time with the Ducks," team president Michael Pfaff said. "From his dominance on the mound to his commitment to fans and support of our organization, he made a tremendous impact both on and off the field."

While the Ducks had hoped Bauer's success would lead to a return to Major League Baseball, the veteran right-hander will instead head back to Mexico, where he will reunite with Diablos Rojos del México and pursue a third consecutive championship.

Though his time with the Flock was brief, Bauer's impact on Long Island will not soon be forgotten.
