World Cup fever has officially taken hold across the United States, and Team USA is giving fans plenty to cheer about.

The United States Men's National Team made history this week by winning its first two group-stage matches at the FIFA World Cup, something the Americans had not accomplished since the inaugural tournament in 1930. Nearly a century later, Team USA is once again off to a dream start.

Despite being without star forward Christian Pulisic, the Americans continued their impressive run with a 2-0 victory over Australia. Team USA struck twice in the first half and never looked back, controlling the match and securing an early ticket to the knockout rounds.

The victory came on the heels of an impressive 4-1 win over Paraguay in the tournament opener. Through two matches, the Americans have outscored their opponents 6-1 and have quickly become one of the feel-good stories of the World Cup.

The strong start has energized fans from coast to coast and brought soccer enthusiasm in the United States to levels not seen in years. Viewing parties have packed stadiums and public spaces, and supporters are beginning to dream about a deep tournament run.

With six points through two matches, the United States has already secured a spot in the Round of 16. The Americans can also clinch first place in Group D depending on the outcome of Friday night's match between Paraguay and Türkiye. A Paraguay victory or a draw would ensure Team USA finishes atop the group heading into the knockout stage.

For a nation that has waited nearly 100 years to see such a start, the excitement surrounding the Red, White and Blue is impossible to ignore.

And with the knockout rounds looming, America's World Cup journey is just getting started.
