This past Friday night, the William Floyd Colonials varsity flag football team delivered one of the most impressive performances in program history, cruising to a dominant 50–0 victory over Lindenhurst Bulldogs. The win carried extra meaning as it came on Senior Night, giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about as they watched their seniors shine on both sides of the ball.

Under the leadership of head coach Ron Krawczyk, everything clicked for the Colonials from the opening whistle. The offense was explosive, the defense was relentless, and the energy on the field matched the excitement in the stands.

Leading the way was standout senior Vinte’ya Rountree, who turned in a remarkable all-around performance. Rountree rushed for 92 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns, while also adding a punt return touchdown and a pick-six on defense. She tied for the team lead with six flag pulls and even recorded a safety, showcasing her versatility and impact in every phase of the game.

Defensively, Kori Ricks and Veronica-Sky Williams were dominant forces. Each recorded four sacks, consistently applying pressure and disrupting Lindenhurst’s offense. Ricks matched Rountree with a team-high six flag pulls, while Williams added five, ranking third on the team in that category.

On the offensive side, Mariela Garcia contributed 40 rushing yards and a touchdown, helping to keep the momentum going. Diondra Hooten led the receiving corps with 29 yards and a touchdown, rounding out a well-balanced and efficient attack.

With the win, the Colonials improved to 8–3 overall and extended their winning streak to seven games. The team will look to carry that momentum into its regular-season finale on the road against Sachem North this Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Before kickoff, the program honored its four seniors—Ricks, Rountree, Nevaeh Seymore, and Williams—in a heartfelt ceremony alongside friends, family members, coaches, and teammates. It was a fitting tribute on a night that celebrated not only their contributions, but also a memorable team victory.
