A man was killed Thursday night after being struck by an SUV while walking along Middle Country Road in Selden, Suffolk County police said.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:34 p.m. in front of 761 Middle Country Road, according to Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives.
Police said the man was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML350 driven by Clarissa Macioce, 50, of St. James.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Macioce was not injured in the crash, police said.
Authorities impounded the Mercedes for a safety inspection as detectives continue to investigate the incident.
