Brookhaven Town officials and members of the Brookhaven Youth Board celebrated dozens of young artists during the Fourth Annual Brookhaven’s Got Talent Student Art Show at Town Hall.
The growing event drew record participation this year, with 60 submissions from 55 students in grades seven through 12 representing communities across Brookhaven Town. Students submitted photographs, paintings and drawings centered around the theme, “Everyday Wonders That Make Me Smile.”
Supervisor Dan Panico joined Town Clerk Kevin LaValle, Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich, Councilmember Neil Manzella and Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig in recognizing the student-artists and their creative achievements during the celebration.
Artwork from the competition is now displayed in the second-floor atrium at Brookhaven Town Hall, where it will remain on exhibit throughout the month of May for residents and visitors to enjoy.
“One of the best things about the Brookhaven’s Got Talent Student Art Show is the pride and enjoyment the young artists receive from having their work on display at Town Hall,” Panico said. “It’s wonderful to provide this opportunity for local youth to share their impressive artistic talents.”
Families, teachers and community members gathered at Town Hall to view the exhibit and support the students, many of whom proudly posed beside their artwork during the event.
Town officials said the annual art show continues to grow each year, offering local students an opportunity to showcase their creativity while building confidence and community involvement through the arts.
The Brookhaven Youth Bureau organizes the event as part of its broader effort to support youth programs and activities throughout the town. Officials said programs like the art show help encourage self-expression, creativity and civic engagement among young residents throughout Brookhaven.
