Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Manorville Crash

Police are investigating a crash in Manorville that left a motorcyclist seriously injured, authorities said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives responded to Weeks Avenue at Calendar Road following a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

Investigators said James Lapham, 29, of Manorville, was traveling northbound on Weeks Avenue when his KTM motorcycle collided with a 2020 Tesla that was turning left onto Weeks Avenue from Calendar Road.

Lapham was transported by emergency medical personnel to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue with serious injuries, police said.

The Tesla driver, Stephanie Saladino, 42, of Manorville, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Authorities said both vehicles were impounded for safety checks as part of the ongoing investigation.

Detectives have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash and did not say whether any charges would be filed.

The intersection remained open following the incident, though police urged motorists to use caution in the area during the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752, police said, as detectives continue to gather evidence and review the circumstances surrounding the collision late Friday afternoon.

Additional details were not immediately available, including whether weather or road conditions played a role in the crash.

Officials said the investigation remains active and urged anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam or surveillance video to come forward.

Police also reminded drivers to remain alert at intersections, particularly when making turns across traffic, to help prevent similar incidents.
