Brookhaven Town officials have announced the return of the town’s annual special recycling events for 2026, supported by $20,000 in sponsorship funding from four private companies.
Supervisor Daniel J. Panico and members of the Town Council accepted the sponsorship contributions on March 26 in Farmingville. The sponsors—Gershow Recycling, Maggio Environmental, LLC, Reworld Waste, and Winters Bros., a WM Company—each donated $5,000 to support the program.
The funding will help facilitate 13 recycling events scheduled throughout the spring and fall, offering residents opportunities to safely dispose of electronic waste, shred sensitive documents and drop off unused prescription medications. The town will also accept cardboard recycling at each event.
“Thanks to the continued partnership with our generous sponsors, these recycling events offer residents a responsible way to dispose of materials that could otherwise harm our environment,” Panico said. “I strongly encourage all Brookhaven residents to take advantage of these convenient opportunities.”
