Man Owes Big Bucks in Child Support, Wanted in Suffolk

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating William Benson, who is currently wanted on an active Family Court arrest warrant.

Benson, whose date of birth is August 27, 1982, is described as a 6-foot-tall male weighing approximately 230 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities report that the warrant was issued on May 16, 2025, by the Honorable Judge Brocato in connection with an Article 4 Child Support matter.

Bail has been set at $149,000.

According to officials, Benson has known ties to both Charlotte, New York, and the New York City area, and may be frequenting those locations. Law enforcement is urging residents in those communities, as well as the general public, to remain vigilant and report any possible sightings or information regarding his whereabouts.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that individuals with outstanding warrants can pose challenges to the legal system, particularly in matters involving family court obligations.

Officials noted that resolving such cases is critical to ensuring compliance with court-ordered responsibilities.
