The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026, recognizing a distinguished group of athletes, coaches, officials, and contributors who have made lasting impacts on sports across Suffolk County. The class will be honored during an induction ceremony on May 21 at 6 p.m. at Flowerfield.
“This induction class is one of the deepest and most impactful we’ve ever assembled,” said Chris R. Vaccaro, president of the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame.
The 2026 class features a wide range of accomplished individuals. Among the inductees are Keiron Bigby, an NFL player and Super Bowl champion from Central Islip, New York, and Bryan Bonin, the longtime Commack, New York baseball coach recognized as a community legacy honoree. Also included are former NFL player and coach Mike Buck of Sayville, New York and respected girls basketball coach Claude Byer from Amityville, New York.
Additional inductees include John DiClemente, a longtime Section XI official from Central Islip, and Ken Ericksen, the U.S. Olympic softball coach and Ward Melville High School alumnus. Former NFL player Sean Farrell of Westhampton Beach, New York and John Franzone, senior vice president of game presentation and production for the Tampa Bay Lightning, are also part of the class.
The inductee list continues with standout lacrosse player Nick Galasso of West Islip, New York, former NFL player Les Goodman of Port Jefferson, New York, and WNBA star Arella Guirantes of Bellport, New York. Sports broadcaster Alan Hahn, longtime Mattituck athletic director Michael Huey, and NHL goaltender Keith Kinkaid of Farmingville, New York will also be honored.
Other inductees include Monika Kost of Lindenhurst, New York, pioneering marathon runner Nina Kuscik, and baseball pioneer Horace McGarity as a historic honoree. The class also features coach Kerrigan Miller, lacrosse standout Jamie Ortega, coach Steve Rebholz, softball All-American Kim Ryan, MLB pitcher Marcus Stroman, Army athletic director Tom Theodorakis, and NCAA wrestling champion Pete Yozzo. The North Lindenhurst Fire Department Racing Team will also be honored for its service contributions.
Founded in 1990, the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing individuals who have made substantial contributions to sports in Suffolk County.
