The Dr. Calabro Lodge #3011 Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America recently held its 2nd Annual Scholarship Gala, marking the organization’s third anniversary and its ongoing commitment to education and community service. Lodge President Leonardo Saburro welcomed members, guests, and community leaders to the celebration, which highlighted the lodge’s scholarship program and its mission to support future leaders.
During the event, State Senator Dean Murray and Assemblyman Joseph DeStefano were honored for their support of education and community initiatives. Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine also joined lodge members and supporters in celebrating the organization’s achievements and continued growth. The lodge was named for Dr. Paul “Frank” Calabro, a local physician who started Bayview Hospital in Mastic Beach and gave so much of himself to the community.
