The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library officially welcomed a new café vendor with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of Dutton Brew House, a small, family-owned company focused on service, community and family.

Local officials, library board members and staff gathered to mark the opening of the café, located inside the system’s main branch on William Floyd Parkway. Among those attending the celebration were State Senator Dean Murray and Assemblyman Joe DeStefano, who joined library leaders in welcoming the new business.

“This library has become a true community hub, and adding a local family business like Dutton Brew House only makes it stronger,” DeStefano said. “It’s a great place for residents to gather, enjoy a cup of coffee and take advantage of everything this beautiful facility has to offer.”

Murray said the new café enhances what has already become one of the region’s most impressive public facilities.

“The new library on William Floyd Parkway is really the crown jewel of this library system,” Murray said. “With the addition of Dutton Brew House, visitors can enjoy great coffee while spending time reading, studying or attending programs here.”

Dutton Brew House offers specialty drinks, fresh snacks and treats to library visitors. The company is also known for shipping freshly roasted coffee beans to customers around the world, roasting beans to order and delivering them directly to customers’ doors.

The main library facility anchors a growing system that also includes newer branches in Moriches and Mastic Beach, providing expanded services and gathering spaces for residents across the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley community.

Cafe hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and closed Sunday.
