Brookhaven Opens Grove Apartments, Expands Affordable Housing

Grove Apartments | Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven marked a major milestone in its affordable housing efforts with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Grove Apartments, a newly completed residential community offering high-quality workforce housing.

Town officials, community leaders, and project partners gathered to celebrate the opening of 55 energy-efficient one, two, and three-bedroom units, designed to provide modern, stable rental options for working families and individuals.

“The town of Brookhaven stepped up for us in a really big and very positive way,” said Dave Gallo, President of Georgia Ventures. “When these units were coming to completion, we had to work very, very hard to get residents in. I can’t thank you enough, Supervisor, for everything that you guys did to make sure that the residents moved in as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thank you all. It was truly amazing.”

Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, who supported the project from its early stages, emphasized the need for more affordable housing. “When this project was first presented, I was Supervisor of the town of Brookhaven and widely supportive. This is going to make a huge difference. We need more affordable housing, period,” he said.

Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico highlighted the town’s leadership in expanding housing opportunities. “We create more housing units, and we preserve more property than any of the five western towns. Brookhaven is the most excellent investment for state funds… We have shown the leadership to get it done,” Panico said.

Grove Apartments, located in the heart of East Patchogue, offers modern amenities and convenient access to transportation, employment centers, and local services. The development was made possible through a partnership between the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, and New York State housing agencies and aligns with the town’s broader strategy of revitalization, smart land use, and expanded access to affordable homes.
