Stony Brook University seeks student art for chemistry-themed exhibition

Andrea Goldsmith, Seventh Stony Brook President | SBU

The College of Arts and Sciences at Stony Brook University is calling for student submissions for its upcoming exhibition, "Arts Everywhere: Showcasing Transformation from Chemistry to Art." The event is part of the Arts Everywhere Initiative and encourages students to consider chemistry as a metaphor for change, connection, and material transformation.

Students from all majors are eligible to submit their artwork for consideration. Selected artists will receive a stipend of $100. The deadline for submission is Sunday, November 2, with final artworks due by Thursday, November 13.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Chemistry Building starting November 18 and will remain on view through the Spring 2026 semester. A reception marking the opening of the showcase is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm in the Chemistry Building lobby.

Rebecca Zhang ‘27 and Ynuel Spencer ‘27, both art history majors, are curating the exhibition. Students with questions are encouraged to contact Rebecca and Ynuel via email using the subject line “AEI Questions.”
