The Town of Brookhaven is set to hold two toy drive events for those in need. | Town of Brookhaven

It’s that time of year when we turn our thoughts toward the holidays. The mailbox is full of requests for donations, and Brookhaven hopes you will be generous right here at home.

Two events are coming up – The Car Show Food and Toy Drive and the JVC Broadcasting Toy Drive.

All Suffolk Car Clubs is sponsoring the Car Show Food and Toy Drive to help needy Long Islanders have a happy holiday.

Club members will be displaying their cars in the south parking lot of Brookhaven Town Hall to raise donations for families in need through the Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s Interface Program. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items to contribute to the Thanksgiving Food Drive and new, unwrapped toys for children to open during the holiday season. Cash donations are also accepted.

When: Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Where: Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738

There will be a silent auction, raffles, live music and more. For additional information contact Maxine at 516-658-1977.

Super Bowl Props - Sometimes Boring Pays

My early thinking on the Big Game centers around the belief that I have that both of these defenses will steal the show. The Seahawks have allowed just 68 points in their last seven games that were not against the Stafford–McVay Rams, while the Patriots’ run defense has allowed 87, 79, and 48 rushing yards in their last three games.
