Brookhaven to Host Annual Veterans Resource Fair at Town Hall

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico has announced that the Town of Brookhaven Department of General Services, Division of Veterans Services, in partnership with the Suffolk County Veterans Services Agency, will host the annual Veterans Resource Fair on Monday, October 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will take place in the second-floor auditorium at Brookhaven Town Hall, located at 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville.

“The Veterans Resource Fair provides an important opportunity for veterans and their families to connect with organizations offering essential programs and services,” said Supervisor Panico. “We owe so much to the men and women who served our nation, and this fair is one way to ensure they have access to the support, resources, and guidance they need.”

This year’s fair will bring together a wide range of veteran-focused organizations and service providers. Confirmed participants include the Brookhaven Town Veteran Services Division, Suffolk County Veteran Services Agency, AMVETS Post 48, Catholic War Veterans Post 1897, VFW Post 3054, Clear Captions, the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, Inc., the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project, Legal Services of Long Island, Long Island Blue Star Moms NY Chapter 6, the Long Island State Veterans Home, Suffolk County Office of Emergency Management, Suffolk County Community College Veterans Resource Center, Suffolk Federal Credit Union, and Veteran and East End artist Joh Melillo.

The event is designed to connect veterans with critical resources covering health care, housing, financial assistance, education, peer support, and more. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide personalized guidance to ensure veterans and their families know where to turn for help.

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
